Each year artists from around the country converge on the North Shore to participate in a three-hour extravaganza where the best of the best are honoured. This year’s theme is ‘Incredible India’, chosen for its fabulous colour, inspiring imagery and vibrant culture. Awards up for grabs include ‘Air Brushed Body Art’, ‘SPFX Fantasy’, ‘Best Emerging Artist’, and the ‘Supreme Award’ for Best Director.

Will they escape? Who will save them?

Now in its ninth year, Diwali is the largest celebration of the Indian and South Asian community in Wellington. Also known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, the lighting of lamps at Diwali expresses happiness and welcomes light and prosperity.

Diwali is a time of festivity for Wellington’s local communities and an opportunity to share and celebrate culture.

Diwali Mela: A variety of market stalls, food, activities and entertainment. This free event is a showcase of Indian and South Asian culture in Wellington.
