Event: Onehunga Christmas Lights
Time: 7:00pm–9:00pm
Venue: Jellicoe Park, 131 Trafalgar St
Celebrate the spirit of Christmas with friends and family at the Onehunga Community Christmas event.
- Enjoy carol singing and performances from the local community, including Laura Schilperoort, Royal Oak Primary Ensemble, Te Papapa Primary Choir, Onehunga Primary School, local churches group, Marcellin College and the Philippines Christian Group.
- Join in the countdown for the lighting of the Christmas tree.
- Visit Santa at Santa’s Gazebo.
- Free children’s entertainment including face painters, balloon-twisting.
- Explore the historic house.

Event: Takapuna Beach Christmas Carnival
Time: 9:30am–1:30pm
Venue: Takapuna Beach
The Lion Foundation Takapuna Beach Christmas Carnival in association with Classic Hits. This is an event for the whole family with markets stalls, buskers, kids rides and activities, Santa and friends.
Check out the stage:
- 9.30am - The Old Lolly Shop Community Stage - community & cultural performances.
- 11.30am - Phineas Phrog’s: A touch of Frosty.
- 12pm - Santa!
- 12.10pm - The Busking Competition - come view the talented buskers - musicians, magicians, jugglers and dancers compete in front of a celebrity judge panel for fantastic prize money.
Spend the morning at the carnival then head down to the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

The Browns Bay Christmas Parade and Airshow 2010 is fun and entertainment for all the family. You will find a host of food, children’s entertainment, helicopter rides, sky divers, air display and so much more.

Event: Birkenhead Santa Christmas Parade

Annual Birkenhead Santa Christmas street parade with 50 floats, many bands and other amusing characters. An event for all the family to come to watch and enjoy.
Meet Santa afterwards at the new Birkenhead Library and enjoy the market/festival afterwards.

Event: Milford Lights Party

“Milford Lights” is fast approaching! From December 1st – 16th, every purchase in a participating Milford business gets you a vote for your favourite Christmas display. Then join our party 16th December, from 5.30pm, for the giant hamper draw worth over $500 (you have to be there to get the prize) and the presentation of the BNZ Milford Trophy to the overall winner of “Milford Lights”.

The event is just one of many free Christmas events being celebrated in communities across Auckland with support from Auckland Council.

RNZN Divisions
His Excellency the Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand, GNZM, QSO, Governor General of New Zealand will review the largest parade of sailors for the year. The parade will include sailors from both shore establishments and ships.
The parade will be held on the 21st January 2010 at the Ngataringa Bay Sports Fields and will commence at 1000am.
It is anticipated that the parade will be attended by Members of Parliament and Mayors from the local area.
This is an opportunity for families to gather and see the largest parade of Naval personnel for the year. Families are requested to arrive at the Ngataringa Bay Sports Complex by 0945.
